Great Pocket Flashlight

Great buy. It’s got 3 brightness settings getting brighter with each press. Super bright and the strobe is neat too.

Compact and rugged light. Battery awkward to remove and charge if used daily. High mode restricted.

This light is very portable and offers several modes in use, selected with a rotary switch. The lock mode prevents accidentally draining the battery in a pocket or backpack, but the rotary switch is very loose and easily spun, so it's not a very secure lock. The Tac mode allows instant momentary full brightness mode, or strobe mode. The Duty mode offers the typical flashlight operation, with low, medium, and high intensity selection. If the high mode is chosen though, it reverts to medium after a minute or two. I guess this preserves the battery and prevents overheating. The LED head only gets a little warm in extended operation though.I like the battery indicator on the back, which flashes red or blue after turning the light off to indicate the remaining battery level. Unfortunately the battery must be removed for recharging, and no spare battery is included. While searching for replacement/spare batteries, I found similar lights for a fraction of this light's price, which included the same 10880 battery. Luckily, the flashlight works ok with 2 AAA batteries, so it's not left completely inoperative during recharging or if the battery fails. The recharging battery has an LED to indicate when it's charging or full, and takes a couple of hours to fully charge. A USB-C cable is included, but you need supply your own USB charger with USB-A port. My USB meter shows it charging at only .5 watts. The main claim for this flashlight is its slender size. I typically carry 1 or 2 18650 Convoy style flashlights in my cargo pockets at work, and thought this light would offer a less bulky solution. So long as I remember to charge it at night and reassemble and put it in my pocket in the morning, this light is a slight improvement, but the less common and single rechargeable battery make it less convenient than swapping a 18650 like my other lights. This light's a little bulky for a shirt pocket and on the long size, but does make a nice inspection light and seems adequately waterproofed. The light beam is a fairly wide beam, definitely not a spotlight. With a fully charged battery, it can provide a couple of hours light, but the auto dimming feature prevents leaving it on high power. The included clip is held onto the light barrel with a spring clip. A lanyard is included which seems to be intended to attach to the hole in the clip, but its sharp edges will wear through the lanyard in short order. A small hole in the flashlight barrel or swivel ring might make more sense than piggybacking onto the pocket clip. I'd rather have the lanyard only and no pocket clip, but that's not an option with the included accessories. While this is a small and rugged emergency light, it doesn't quite impress me or replace my Convoys. If it shipped with a spare battery or could be recharged without disassembly it would be more convenient. I don't really feel it's worth the price and wouldn't order it again.

Nice Tactical Light

I was disappointed when the first flashlight I received was defective. Customer service was good in trying to troubleshoot the issue, and quick to send a replacement when the troubleshooting failed. The new unit worked as advertised. Very pleased with the function and size of the flashlight. Adjustable brightness is a great function. Rechargeable battery is great.

Perfect EDC flashlight.

Best work/defense flashlight I’ve found. For work I usually want a flashlight to initially turn on at a lower power setting to avoid blinding light in a small space. If I needed to use a flashlight in a defensive situation when I can’t carry anything more effective, I’d want it to initially turn on the highest setting either steady or strobe. The switch on the back end of this light rotates to 3 different positions, 1 being locked so it won’t accidentally turn on when you don’t want it to, 2 being basically a standard flashlight mode where it turns on in its last used brightness level and 3 being a tactical mode that immediately turns on high or stobe depending on how hard you depress the on button.

Solid product and very trustworthy company

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I own a lot of flashlights and the TA22 is a solid EDC carry. Other products may offer higher lumens and candela, but not in the same form factor and UI as the TA22. I had an issue with my TA22 and nextorch customer service worked with me to fix the issue and even sent me a replacement AND paid for the import duty tax. 100% a solid company and products. I also own one of their extendable batons and is by far the best baton I've ever owned.

Very good flashlight

Pros: light is very bright and battery charges quickly. Very ergonomic and easy to carry.Cons: The so-called tactical setting is just a strobe that requires constant pressure to work and appears to be pretty useless.Overall a very good flashlight but would be better without the tactical component.

Solid option for EDC

Light and convenient for daily carry. Appears to be well built, time will tell. Tailcap switch is a little tough to master as it is very sensitive but can be mastered. No exterior charging port, so the battery has to be removed for charging (usb c). I do like the battery "life" indicator light on the tail cap. The light is very bright for its size and I like that it has 2 lower lumen settings as well. I can't speak to battery life yet as I am still on my first charge. Overall very satisfied

Good light with interesting features

I have a lot of flashlights. An unreasonably large number of them if one were to ask my wife. :) I'm always looking for something new and interesting. This light came around and I decided to try it out. I've never owned a NEXTORCH light and wanted to give them a shot. The light body is lightweight but feels sturdy. It weighs nearly nothing, to be honest. All its weight is in the included, and a very long boi, battery. The battery has the charge port built in. This does help with waterproofing to not have a port on the light body but does take away a bit of possible battery capacity once you think about it. The battery itself says it's a size 10880. I checked against a Nicron B73R I have that uses a 10840 size battery and they were almost identical with the NEXTORCH being maybe a millimeter taller. The NEXTORCH battery will work in the Nicron but not the other way around. I don't know what this means when it comes time to replace the included battery. The interface is pretty simple. The lockout ring at the tail is a nice, intuitive touch. Bright LEDs can literally burn their way out of pockets if accidentally triggered. Having a hard lockout is a good idea. In 'Duty' mode you can half-press to select a power mode then full-press to keep it there. 'Tac' mode has a half-press for momentary light and a full-press triggers the strobe. The strobe is useful for when we walk our dogs at night. If an aggressive animal approaches I've found that they really dislike having a few hundred lumens of strobe fired into their eyeballs. They tend to back off disoriented. The included pocket clip is sturdy and uses a lens down orientation. There is also a lanyard and USB-C charging cable.Cons: The half-press does take a bit of practice to get what you want when you want it. In 'Tac' mode you'll more often hit the strobe as the high-power output. Also, most lights in this price range include spare o-rings. This one does not. I find this a bit of an oversight on a light that _must_ be opened to charge the battery. O-rings do wear out and will eventually need replacement if you want to keep them water resistant.
