NEXTORCH TA30D MAX One-Step-Strobe Tactical & Search Flashlight - 4000 Lumens

The light output is intense enough to clearly illuminate tree lines or dark alleys from a significant distance. I found the mechanical dial on the back very intuitive for switching between a low light for reading maps and the high intensity mode without having to click through a bunch of menus. Compared to a similar Olight and NEXTORCH models I used previously, the beam on this one feels more focused and throws further, though it lacks the integrated charging port on the body. Instead, you have to take the battery out to plug it in, which is a bit of an extra step when you are in a rush. It's also a bit difficult to get the tailcap back on as the tactical ring interferes a bit.The build is heavy and feels durable when held, and the tactical ring helps keep it secure if you are moving quickly. However, this thing generates a massive amount of heat on the highest setting. I accidentally activated it while it was in my jacket pocket and it got hot enough to start scorching the wool within seconds. It really needs a dedicated holster or a very strict habit of using the lock setting to avoid accidental burns. For the price, it performs well for specialized tasks, but the heat management and the external battery charging are trade-offs to consider.

This tactical flashlight is built very solid. It isn't a fashion flashlight, but a tool. It isn't pretty and built to work. The ring to put your index finger in gives you a sure grip and allows your thumb to turn the ring switch. The switch is nicely indented and the UI is so simple, something many flashlights have gone away from unfortunately. The switch on TAC with a light press is on and full press is strobe. The lock is just a simple click and no accidents.I have a drawer of flashlights already but I couldn��t pass on this NEXTORCH TA30D MAX Tactical Flashlight because of one single thing - four thousand freaking lumens output! I instantly wanted it. When I got it in my hands, the first thing that struck me was the build quality. It feels like a solid, dense aluminum piece, cool to the touch and incredibly rigid. The profile is fantastic - it��s not too big and sits nicely against my hip in my pants pocket. At the same time it��s not too small to be awkward to hold in a hand. I also liked the tactical ring that prevents accidental dropping it. The ring can be replaced with a pocket clip if needed, which is included in the package. The control scheme is where this device really outsmarts its competition. Instead of memorizing complex clicking patterns, there is a mechanical rotary dial on the tail. I love this feature because I can physically verify what mode I am in - Lock, Duty, or Tactical - before I even turn it on. In the "Duty" setting, it behaves like a civilized tool, starting on a low setting that doesn't blind me when I'm checking a map or looking for keys. However, when I flip that dial to "Tactical," this thing transforms into a monster. The button becomes a hair-trigger for a wall of light that is honestly shocking for a device this small. I took it out to a dark field near my house, and the throw is impressive, easily lighting up trees well over a hundred yards away. The strobe is frantic and disorienting, exactly what you want for self-defense. I also appreciated that the battery has a built-in USB-C port making it easy to top its charging level off. Plus, I like that the battery is not built-in and is user-replaceable. This means when the battery eventually degrades years down the road you can pop-in a new one and you are good to go. The light is also very bright and has good stamina. The glass breaker is great to have on any tactical light. There are some cons as with any item and I have listed them below:- No charge port on the light and the battery needs to be removed.- The ring is plastic- Too priceyOther then those items, I highly recommend this!

I spent a little bit of time comparing this to my Acebeam EC90, which is rated at a slightly higher output of 4300 lumens. The Acebeam is a great distance flashlight, but the single side switch isn��t my favorite and it steps down from 4300 lumens after a minute whereas the Nextorch just keeps on going at maximum brightness, which is my favorite part about it besides the excellent build quality. I��ve been collecting lights for years and have gotten tired of the turbo modes; this light has 3 output settings with a half press of the switch jumping straight to the highest setting, much like a turbo mode, but it��s really just the high setting. A full press of the switch activates strobe mode on high, and while I wasn��t sold at first, the rotary ring selector and control setup has grown on me and makes the light very simple to use without extra fluff like RGB modes, sidelights and other nonsense that has gotten old. The light was a bit larger than I was expecting for a 21700 powered light, some of this feel is from the finger ring grip, which is awesome, but makes the light feel larger than it is. It��s a weighty and solid feeling thing though and really feels like it can take some abuse. The three brightness settings are nicely spaced apart for a variety of scenarios; Nextorch��s UTB cooling system really does an impressive job, the light still heats up but it��s very manageable when holding it and the output is unaffected. The beam pattern is pretty similar to my Acebeam EC90, a very defined center hotspot with a ring of spill around it. I think it��s pretty good for a general purpose light and it can project the beam far as well, making it pretty versatile. Battery life is very good on the lower settings but pretty average on the high setting; it��s pretty much on par with most higher end lights and they all use the same batteries anyway for the most part. What I don��t like is that you have to remove the tail cap and pull the battery in order to charge it, which is cumbersome and makes quickly topping it off a process. It does have a USB-C port on the battery to charge it, but I wish the light itself had in body charging. Aside from this complaint, I think it��s a great light with excellent build quality and prefer it over my Acebeam EC90.

The TA30D MAx from nextorch costs a pretty penny but it seems to be worth the price.The body is solid aluminum so it will not break when you drop it. It also claims to be water proof so it won't be destroyed by a little water.This is easy to use. It is 6 inches long and comfortable in the hand. It weighs 8.5 oz so it is a hefty little light. So you can use it as your main belt mounted light.It is cute function with a finger loop to hold it. Otherwise I stick to the standard belt clip. Your choice which you install.Turning the base counter clock wise is how to turn it on and turn it up to such a bright 4000 lumens. It is very bright and gets really hot so it may not be exaggerating that lumen claim. Then you can press the button on the base for instant brightest or strobe.What makes me happy is the battery duration. Bright stays on. Older lights would give you 60 seconds then lower the bright, because of heat. This stays on.And the front bezel has ceramic or carbide? Beads so you can hit and shatter glass with this light also.What can divide opinions is the charging method. You have to take the battery out and directly charge the battery. I am ok with that because you don't have to worry about USB plug going bad and ruining your light permanently.I like this light.

This TA300 tactical light bu Nextorch is very well made. Body consists solely of anodized aluminum. The only plastic piece is the thumb grip near the end.The internal battery is very powerful and when I did a discharged test on it it actually was rated above 4,000 MAH.It's hard to describe how incredibly bright this handheld light is, especially for something that is barely 6 in long.When I turn the light on high and hold my hand about a foot away I can immediately feel the intense heat being emitted from the front of the light.The initial brightness is easily around 4000 lumens which in order to maintain a stable temperature the light will gradually step down the brightness to avoid overheating as the LED generates a tremendous amount of heat in addition to the tremendous amount of light.The real genius of this light is the purpose built tactical ring and end switch.When in tack mode one only needs to lightly depress the end switch to blast out a $4,000 lumen beam. A further and more firm press on the end switch when the light is intact mode produces a blinding strobe.There are also other positions on the ring control at the end One of which is a lock position to prevent accidental activation of the flashlight in a pocket or purse, which could easily start a fire. The other three positions correspond to full-time low, medium or high brightness without any need to press the end switch.Overall a well built purpose driven light perfect for police or security professionals, albeit an expensive one.

TA30D Max is the newest tactical series of flashlight coming from Nextorch in late 2025. There are many detail video and article reviews about this light. I will briefly indicate what I like and don’t like after using it.This light is solid and feels like a tank. It is heavy and well balance in the hand. It is designed for tactical use and comes with a tactical ring but I like the pocket clip better which is included. You will need to remove the tactical ring to install the pocket clip. Disappointedly, it doesn’t come with a holster like other higher priced tactical flashlights.The operation is super simple with the dial and a button switch. You don’t need to read the manual to understand how to use the flashlight. One thing I don’t like is if you use the dial to turn on the light at low, medium, and high, you can’t instantly turn off the light with the button switch. You have to turn the dial to lock position to turn off the light.The TA30D Max is equipped with an unknown flat LED emitter. I wish it were paired with a smooth reflector instead of an orange peel reflector for longer throw distance. The light is powered by a 21700 battery. Unlike most flashlights that allow USB-C charging directly on the light, you have to unscrew the tail cap and recharge the battery externally, which adds some inconvenience.Overall, the TA30D Max is very solid with high output, and it should last a long time under harsh conditions. The price is a little high for not having a holster.

I own a lot of flashlights. Honestly I own too many flashlights. I own a few lights from this company and the quality has always been pretty good. This flashlight is really kind of a chonker. It is big and sturdy and feels good in the hand. The light is nice and even with hot spot in the middle of the beam that is not too overpowering. I'd call it kind of a combo Spot slash flood light. It fits well in the hand. The light easily fills most of our 1/8 acre backyard.It does have a couple of drawbacks that I am not so sure about at this time. The first one and biggest one is the switch is a little tricky to deal with. I like that it has a positive off so that it can't be accidentally triggered while in your bag or pocket. The grip on it has a finger hole and you naturally drift towards putting your pointer finger through that hole. If you do put your pointer finger through that hole then you are unable to manipulate the switch with the same hand. You have to learn to pick it up with your middle finger through that finger hole. Once you do that, then the switch can be much more easily operated with your thumb and pointer finger.The three lighting levels are all useful for what they should be used for. The tactical lighting level is very bright at half press and a full press gets you a very blinding strobe. Sometimes the strobe can be a little easy to activate and is done so accidentally. It just takes time to get used to.Some will find the charging port built into the battery is a nice feature to have. Myself, I'm a bit annoyed that the included '21700' is not actually a normal size 21700 battery. To give it that charging port, the battery is just slightly longer than a normal 21700, as seen in my picture. Now it will take a standard 21700 battery but I've found that, because it is slightly shorter, the battery will sometimes lose continuity if the light is jostled and the springs compress. You can stretch the springs in the tail cap slightly to give it some better contact. I would prefer a standard 21700 battery be used or some sort of spacer included to enable the easier use of standard batteries. But I just may be an edge case.At this price point, I kind of expect perfection. The kind if weird switch and non-standard battery knock it down one star for me. If you those aren't deal breakers then this light is stupidly bright and built like a tank and should serve well for years even in tougher roles.
