My new favorite light company EDIT

The media could not be loaded.

EDIT: I still love this light but after using it for several weeks pretty much constantly have come to realize the battery light just isn’t there. The spotlight the brighter light doesn’t even run for an hour. And my other lamp so I can run them for several hours at maximum brightness. It’s still a gray light but the battery life has to figure into my rating so I regretfully have to take off a star.So I read someone else’s review and they mentioned that this was their favorite headlamp now. I sort of chuckled because I have many headlamps and they all have areas where they do very well in some areas where they fall short.I have lots of flashlights. This isn’t just an quirk. I have trouble seeing in so to be able to shine a direct light on whatever I’m looking at wherever I am is very helpful to me. I also do a lot of work in confined spaces where I need to be able to direct light in order to see what I’m doing on very small areas. So I like to have a couple of flashlights just hanging about in every single room of the house. And I keep a few on me wherever I go.When this light arrived I opened the box and immediately started using this one. So let’s be clear. This other person was not exaggerating. This is also my favorite headlamp now. I was very surprised. It is absolutely comfortable. It weighs practically nothing so sometimes I’m not even realizing that I’m wearing it. This is in contrast to several harness lights I have where you get the feeling that you’re wearing a hardhat. The illumination is very good. You have the option of using a diffuse light which has preset modes or a spotlight which is bright and more focused. The amount of light coming out of the small lamp is surprising. And you can adjust the brightness by holding down the button. These adjustments are what you call stepless which means you basically have an infinite range of going from off to brightest. You hold the button and it starts dimming and you lift it up when you get to the level you want. The same thing going the other way from off to brightest. This thing lights up a room like one of my much larger lights does.Long battery life and USBC charging. I’m used to being able to take out the 18650s and put new ones, as most of my lights do not have a permanently sealed battery. So the only downside I could see is if I run this all the way till the battery is dead and then I have to plug it in and charge it, I can’t swap out the battery. But this light is long lasting so I think you can handle this by making sure you keep it plugged in when you’re not using it.It’s weird because on the strap there is something labeled a battery pack key, but I wonder if that is from a different style of headlamp that allows you to open up and change the battery. Because I cannot find any area in this light where you can or should open it up. Nothing in the instructions about it either. The strap is adjustable but also has a strange buckle that looks like it would open up but it doesn’t seem to, there’s some unusual design elements in the strap. Again this is not addressed in the overly simplified manual. It’s almost like the light is also one of those puzzles that leaves you with some curious questions. But as a light this thing works as it should and perfectly. It’s easier to use and more intuitive than some lights as well. The spotlight you just flip it up and it’s on automatically. For the diffuse and the SOS light you just hold down the button on the top. A short press changes modes. The button is small but it is tactile so you can easily find it.The entire design of this is rounded and smooth with no exposed metal parts so if you throw this in a bag you’re not gonna scratch any delicate items. Even the buckles and everything has a slightly rounded off corner well thought out designed aspect to it.Again it is simply the best headlight I own now. This is the third product I’ve bought from this company and I have just been overly impressed with him. As a person who could be described as ‘slightly addicted to flashlights’, I think I found a new go to brand.

Good headlamp, even with gloves on

https://youtu***/AzyOKxYgaio
Headlamp is very bright and easy to use even with gloves on. It is alittle heavier then others I have had but not thay big of a deal. Battery life is good and have had no issues with recharging. Does not have red or Strobe which is the only upgrade I would recommend to it.

A popular choice for all of these reasons! Thanks for the review Scott.

Money well spent

Well, I have a collection truth be known. 6 that kinda work all different brands. Now I think I have found the correct one. Works like no other ever did. If you want the best, you have to pay. If I had the money that I spent on the others, I could have a couple more of these. Works great!

Very true! Quality counts! Thanks for the review.

Great Versatility

Nextorch makes some nice quality flashlights. My husband collects flashlights, and this is a brand he recommends. They have great quality manufacturing tolerances, use good parts and are reasonably priced (especially considering how high some popular brands reach). This headlamp model has the versatility of choosing area lighting or flipping it up for more of a spotlight effect. He is very happy with this.

Do not look directly into the light.

This is the brightest head lamp ever. EVER! I really like the fact that you can use it two ways. If you leave the light closed it will shine the light out in front of you. If you flip it open it will direct it down to whatever you are working on.The strap is comfortable and feels secure. Highly recommend, just be careful and do not burn your retina or anyone else's for that matter..
