Plate broke while adjusting (Updated 08/24)

As described, the mounting tail on it snapped off resulting in it not having secure mounting. I have contacted nextorch about a month ago and they have not responded to me. All I was asking was for a replacement plate and they didn’t even bother to reply.UPDATE:The seller did eventually respond and offered to give me a full refund or a completely new unit despite me only requesting a new mounting plate. I am updating the review to 4 out of 5. I cannot give the product 5 stars as I had to submit a request 2x on their website and it seems that I only received a response due to my 1 star review on the unit. The unit itself was totally fine and what I expected, just wish they’d have been more responsive for warranty considering I contacted them months ago.

Great light! Stays on my helmet and works even from my constant abuse.

I like this helmet light a lot. It mounts easily on my helmet and the controls are easy to use. I like using the light on my right side, so I mounted it upside down. This allows my thumb to easily manipulate the on and off switch as well as the light switch. My favorite design aspect to this light is it uses a typical AA battery which is commonly available, and I often carry a pack in my “go-bag”.I’ve used it and abused it and so far, it has endured. I was concerned about the pliability of the light arm from me constantly adjusting it and being in my helmet bag. But it is still rigid and allows me to point the light in the direction I need it.The light illumination level is just right. I don’t want a light that throws out too many lumens to identify my location or give me night blindness when I turn it off. I mainly use it for distances up to 10ft. or closer. The IR light and side marker do work but not strong enough for aerial identification. I have a standalone IR marker on my helmet which I use for that. I don’t use the IR light on this system to see in darkness. I would need to put on my PVS/NVG just to read a map. I’d rather use the red lens.Overall, I like this light system. It is easy to use and works when I need it the most. Highly recommended.

Fit in tactical helmet is tight

This is my 3rd brand I've tried. Started cheap and this is the first 1 I've kept. This thing is perfect for coyote hunting. The only 1 that has fit tight with no rattle in tactical helmet. Worth the price without spending the premium brand price!

Works well for me

Went right on my helmet really easily. Despite running around and dropping it a few time its stayed on. Not super bright, witch is what I like. Enough light to see and get things done. Switch on top, or bottom (depending on your set up) is easy and works for me. I would say pretty good for the price. No complaints so far.

Perfect with gloves

Light-Brightness is decent for the price with super short throw; all flood, no spot light on all color modes. You get some extra throw and spot with high power white but not for too long.IR-IFF flash is really bright as fast compared to a Surefire HL1.IR is dimmer than a PVS-7 emitter so no washout on up close work if that’s what you’re looking for.Body-Fits arc rail, no wiggle on mine. Snake arm is strong enough to not rattle onto the helmet but will move away from helmet when shocked (jumping, running, etc)Controls-Big slide toggle for IFF and any visible light powered on, it automatically prioritizes IFF and cut power to visible light.Tactile rotating switch for color operation. Good luck memorizing them from white, red, green, IR.Power switch is loud and tactile as a pet trainer clicker and if you run ear pro attached helmet you will undoubtedly know you clicked the light switch and probably know from the next building if that’s any concern.Conclusions-It’s a Princeton Charge X on a super budget

Not a great product for the price.

It's low lummins the battery dies quickly they send a type charge cord but it isn't rechargeable. There is a lot better options cheaper.

An excellent admin light and at excellent price!

Finally, an admin light that doesn't break the bank, and performs as well (or better) then those more well known brands. I'm so glad to have found your booth at the 2025 NRA conference!

Excellent Product, Durable, High Quality

This light is exactly what I was looking for to mount on my tactical helmet. I have read reviews of a similar product from Pelican that is made of cheap plastic that breaks easily, definitely not needed in a tactical situation. NexTorch rStar is a premium product and quality made. I purchased one for my EDC backpack. I plan on purchasing another one for my ballistic vest.

On my helmet, because this has an adjustable light that I can direct it where I want. where it is attached behind my Walker Razor Slim it still is accessible and works great.

Thanks NEXTORCH. . . Great Product
