This is a really bright flashlight, and the rechargeable battery lasts a long time. I think it's a great flashlight for running at night, and the finger loop lets you keep control of it without needing a death grip. I didn't try the strike bezel. I'm sure it will break glass, but I wouldn't want to use it for defense. It won't do enough damage to disable an attacker, and I wouldn't want the blood contamination from a random junkie that has who knows what blood-borne disease. I was concerned that removing and attaching the tail cap meant turning the selector dial to one of the extremes and applying more pressure. It seems like it risks damage to the selector, but it has held up so far.It has an operation method that I've never seen before. The selector has 5 positions: locked, light off (tac), light low, light medium, and light high. The button pushes in slightly and all the way. When locked, pushing the button has no effect and prevents accidentally turning the light on and draining the battery. In the other positions, the light is constantly on at the specified level. When holding the flashlight like an ice pick, it's easy to use my thumb and index finger to twist the selector. Pushing the button slightly is a "turbo" that goes to high brightness, which isn't a change at the high setting. Pushing fully puts the light into strobe mode. The button is always momentary, so releasing it goes back to the selector setting. It works with a syringe or ice pick grip, especially with the finger loop attached.My main complaint is the appropriateness for solo tactical use. I'm trained to leave the light off when you're solo to not give away your position. You then momentarily flash the light for navigation and identification. This method is only possible in the tac/off position. The only choice of light is high brightness when you partially push the button. This could be too bright for many situations. There's nothing that prevents from accidentally going all the way to the strobe setting, especially under stress. When working with a team, the light is always left since each team member flashing gives away the entire team anyway. With a team, turning the selector to the desired level and "turbo"ing to max brightness is a good alternative.

Yall this might be the best light I've ever purchased. It is face of the sun bright. Like don't point this at someone unless its a threat situation kind of bright. There is a very unique tail light configuration that let's you activate the light with a one press on, one press off. A deeper press activates the strobe function. This is handy because in non emergency use, you have the ability to lightly press. Whereas in an emergency situation, you're going to be pressing hard on that button that that'll get you your strobe function which is clutch in a defense situation. It's size is perfect. And the finger hole grip is awesome. So, is it worth 99 bucks (at the time of this review), man I dunno... it is a very very nice light but that is a steep hill to climb. But since this is both waterproof and impact resistant, this light should last you a long time.

I own several Nexttorch products and I have yet to be disappointed. This flashlight exceeded my expectations as far as brightness and ease of use. It may seem expensive compared to similar lights with this lumen spec, but dont be fooled, many manufacturers greatly embellish the brightness level on products - this one actually delivers. I do wish there was a built-in charging port as the battery needs to be removed for charging, but this is the only thing I would change. The grip is very ergonomic and the option to use the momentary on switch on the back has been my favorite feature. This is a fantastic light! It's compact enough for EDC and bright enough for just about any situation.

Not only is it compact and lightweight but it is also easy to use, super bright, and well made of superior materials. It has many useful features!This tactical light has patented technology that places it above the rest. It has an UTB (ultra thermal buffer) which helps with heat dissipation and preventing it from getting hot so that you can use this for long hours (also great for stealth from thermal imaging devices). It combines Phase-Change Material (PCM) with a control chip to regulate the temperature. Phase change materials (PCMs) are substances that effectively help to regulate thermal energy when they change forms. The UTB is also a safety feature to maintain a cool grip during prolonged use at the high setting.The LED light emits a cool white light. There are 5 Modes: Momentary Quick Light, Low, Medium, High, and Strobe (fast flashing). For being such a small light, the light is very bright at the highest setting. The beam reaches a distance of 410 meters. The strobe light is great as a distraction, and it also works to deter wild or aggressive animals.The default 18650 battery it comes with lasts for up to 50 hours at the Low setting, which is amazing! At the Medium setting, it lasts for approximately 6 hours. At the High setting, it lasts for approximately 2 hours.You can use either one 18650 lithium ion rechargeable battery or two CR123A lithium manganese dioxide non-rechargeable batteries. This is a pretty awesome little flashlight overall, although I’m not entirely sold on the controls. Build quality is top notch, everything is wonderfully machined and I found it to be very comfortable in the hand. I really like the finger ring, which is removable if desired, although it does make the light a bit bulky. Operating the light in the normal modes requires rotating the selector ring on the tail cap to the desired brightness level, of which there are 3, and they’re nicely spaced out in brightness and very usable. In this mode, the tail switch jumps straight to high with a half press and activates the strobe with a full press. It works well for the most part, although on the high setting the tail switch half press does nothing as it’s already on high and there are no turbo modes. I’m not sure about this selector ring and switch combo, I suppose it’s easier to operate with gloves, but it can be difficult from an ergonomic standpoint to manipulate the selector ring with the same hand you’re holding the light with. The Tactical mode jumps right to high with a half press and strobe with a full press. It’s a workable setup but I think I would’ve preferred a side switch over the selector ring, but I do like how Nextorch doesn’t mess around with turbo modes and their cooling system allows the light to run continuously without stepping down at full power. The beam pattern is designed for distance with a moderate amount of spill; I think it works pretty well for a general purpose flashlight. What I really dislike about this light is the lack of in-body charging. The tail cap is annoying to take off with the finger ring and it just makes charging the battery cumbersome having to pull it out every time and it’s a bit of usability flaw in my opinion. Battery life seems about average for the output so far and the beam doesn’t have any tinting issues worth mentioning. I think the light is pretty excellent overall, especially looked at as a tactical light, but between the control setup and especially the battery charging, it’s not quite perfect but still well worth looking at.

The reason I got this flashlight is because of having a farmhouse which we use it a lot. The brightness is dazzling and battery life is fantastic. Moreover, I like the way turns on/off because it has different modes and one of them is tactical which flashes very fast. Remember, this could be used as a spotlight and the range of brightness is great. To charge it, you have to take the battery out and that's the only thing I don't like about it. However, battery life ia decent and gives me all weeks of using it. Highly recommended.

This is a fantastic tactical light. In the box there is the flashlight with grip, a charging cable, battery sleeve, and instructions. The flashlight is very nicely constructed. The only things that are plastic are the push cap and the finger grip, yet the flashlight is not heavy and it very easy to hold and handle.It comes with 4 on modes. As you rotate the cap you can have it on tac mode which it only turns on when you press the button. Next to that is off. Then 3 modes of constantly on. For the low and middle, you can jump to high by slightly pushing the button. Now the thing with this light is it's constant flashing mode. If the button is pushed all the way in any mode, it's in that tactical flashing mode.It comes with a rechargeable battery which is fantastic. To charge the battery it has to be removed from the flashlight itself, not terrible just different. The battery sleeve that comes with it allows you to use the cr123 batteries. Nice little option.The flashlight is super bright. I annoyed my neighbors pretty good with it. This is a fantastic little tac light. 4.5/5 highly recommend.

This is a great little flashlight bright, solid, and clearly built by someone who’s thought about how humans actually use flashlights. The top mounted turn switch is the real MVP: you can cycle through brightness levels or turn it off by brightness, which feels oddly satisfying and very intuitive.It also has a tactical mode that only stays on while you’re holding the button down…perfect if you’re pretending you’re on a covert mission or just don’t want to blind yourself accidentally.It comes with a customizable finger grip, which I could’ve done without, but no worries, it pops right off easily, so no harm done.My only real gripe is the battery. It is rechargeable (yay), but the charging port is on the battery itself (boo), meaning you have to remove it every time you charge. Not a dealbreaker, just a minor “why though?” moment.

The Nextorch advertises a proprietary "Ultra Thermal Buffer Chamber" to help manage the heat from the high output LED. After five minutes at the highest output level the head of the flashlight was warm but not uncomfortably so. There's a battery level indicator on the tail that briefly lights up blue or red to indicate the remaining charge level.There are some pretty neat controls. You can activate the light by turning a ring on the tail to one of four settings, by pressing the tail button, or a combination of both. The button is even pressure sensitive; for example, when the ring is set to "tactical" a light press provides constant, maximum illumination whereas a hard press activates strobe. All in all I think the control options are excellent. However, the beam field is fixed; you cannot twist the head to narrow or widen the output.Charging the flashlight could be a little better, and part of the reason I'm only giving 4 stars. On initial unpackaging, it took me 15 minutes to figure out how to twist off the tail to access the battery. There's a little tag that says, "remove protective cover" before first use, but there are no instructions for how to access the shipping cover. And you'd think it'd be pretty obvious--just twist off the tailcap, but the pre-installed "tactical grip" somehow made twisting off the tail very hard. I ended up finding a video of a guy opening up a similar model--you have to turn the tail dial to max and then keep twisting counter clockwise. I've since removed the tactical grip, and opening up the tail is now really easy.But you do still have to twist open the flashlight and remove the battery to charge it--the USB-C charging port is on the battery itself. Similarly expensive flashlights have adopted magnetic charging that doesn't require disassembling the flashlight.So is this flashlight a good value? At the time of testing it was nearly $100, which I think feels a bit expensive. Now there are some unique features like great build quality, exceptional brightness, IPX8 waterproofing, good heat management, and the ability to smash a window with the reinforced head. But do you need all of those features?And if you do value these specs, could you pay a similar price to get a model with even more upgrades like wireless charging? When opening and closing the battery compartment, you feel the o-ring is pretty snug which makes me confident that this light will handle getting wet, or getting dropped in a puddle, or handle most pools even. The battery is a Li-ion 18650 battery that has to be removed from the light to be charged. It charges with a USB-C cable. It says it is 2200 lumens, but I have no way to verify that. All I know is that it's bright. The beam is fixed, so there's no adjusting it....which is fine. The beam is focused nicely and it casts a good light when you need it for longer distances. The way you control the light is awesome. You have a button on the bottom. When you push it lightly, the brightest setting comes on. When you push it firmly, it goes into bright strobe mode. When you release the button, the light is off. If you want low/medium/high intensity light, you can twist the bottom flashlight rotary switch to turn the light on without pressing the button. Now, if you turn the light on to the lowest setting, the bottom button still works the same way....press lightly for high brightness, press firmly for strobe, and release to go back to low intensity if the rotary switch is still on. Now, the finger ring in my opinion is goofy and stupid. Thankfully they were smart enough to make it removable. I don't normally buy expensive flashlights, and this one is listed for $100 which is higher than I normally would consider spending. I don't think I would purchase this for myself, HOWEVER, I don't think it's a bad value. This is a flashlight that will handle plenty of abuse, it's bright, feels solid and reliable, and there are plenty of people out there that need such a stout flashlight.
