Overall quality is great, love the fit in the hand, features are great. I bought it with the kydex holster it works great as well. It would have been 5 stars except you cannot find a spare battery on their website(18350) nor can you find one after market with the same power ratings. I would recommend for any first responder.

Great but needs improvement

I really love the form of this light. It feels like a hardy self defense tool. It's so nice to have a solid aluminum ring instead of something plastic. Definitely inspires confidence.

Most importantly, the controls are dead simple, which is ideal for high stress situations. I love the intuitive, one step strobe. What I value above all else in a self defense light is idiot proof controls that I can operate easily even in a state of panic. This light is "the One" in terms of meeting that goal. Bravo Nextorch!

What this flashlight needs most is more traction points on the body of the light. There are only a few small grooves for grip, and they are not sufficient. I get that the ring is meant to eliminate a need for more grip, but I still notice all the time how slick the aluminum is. I may add traction tape eventually.

Overall, it's a well made light. I recommend it, and hope Nextorch will expand on this model. Please make a pro version in the future. More traction, an even stronger strobe, optional pocket clip, and maybe a red LED on the side would all be nice.

The flashlight functions well. It has a good weight to it. It has a nice look and egomaniacal feel in the hand. However, it comes with no pocket clip for quick access deployment; and the nextorch v42x holster is not available or can not be found anywhere on the nextorch website in the United States. Because of its reduced carry and deployment options I can only recommend four stars.
