Great build quality at an affordable price. Seems very sturdy. I’m sure it will handle being abused while shoreline fishing. Fits larger tac lights. See pic. The bezel is 39mm in the pic.

This is the second version of his holster I've had. The 2nd generation definitely improved on a couple things from the first. It has a lock out to either allow or prevent the mount from swiveling around. The swivel is useful on a belt, so it doesn't jam you in the gut when leaning forward. But mounted on a vest, carrier or static position, you probably would want it locked out.The attachment lock is WAY easier on this one. As opposed to pinching two things together (that are hidden and in a tight space) to release the mount, it's just a spring loaded flip down lock. You probably won't use it a lot once mounted, but it's definitely easier and nicer to use than the first.I use this with a Streamlight Strion Duel Switch, primarily. It fits this light VERY well. The 27-39mm size holster fits the head of this light very well. It can go bigger but I wouldn't want to get the smaller version of his holster for this specific light.I also dropped my Modlite into it. The Modlite has a very slightly smaller head diameter than the Streamlight, but opposite for the body. In the video posted, I'm using my short body Modlight, obviously you would use this with a long body (2 battery)....I just had the shorty right there to demo. I think you could probably go with the small holster for the head of a Modlight....but only IF, the body clamp is the same size as this one. I had the thumb dialed all the way out for the Modlite....any tighter and this thing is hard to pop in and out, even when the release is open. It's locked it hard when the tension release is closed. Not a huge deal and the holster could easily accommodate either light, if switching back and forth, with a quick adjustment of the thumb screw.

Not for the Fenix PD36R Pro despite being advertised so.

Nextorch advertises the V55L for the Fenix PD36R Pro but frankly it is not. It would've been better if they had left it out of their options for suitability rather than advertising that it does. The PD36R Pro is just too small for this holster which makes the whole setup look ridiculous (my flashlight looks too small or the holster looks too big), and super uncomfortable to wear.I am an airline pilot and I always fly with my flashlight inside a clip-on holster on my belt. I recently upgraded from the Fenix PD35 (with a Polyamide clip-on holster which holds the flashlight perfectly) and I was looking for a different type of holster that had a few more features. I saw this one and did my research. However I found no videos on youtube, any articles or posts related to this particular setup so I decided to give it a try since the brand considers it as an option for this setup. I deeply regret it now tbh. Also, even if I tighten the screw to the tightest setting, it won't hold it completely tight. Aside from that, the whole thing will jiggle left and right if you decide to wear a common 1.5" belt (which common people do). That makes it so much harder to release the flashlight from the holster which defeats the whole purpose of having a holster. On the pro side, it looks like it's made of sturdy materials and I'm sure that if I had a thicker 2.25" belt (probably as law-enforcement personnel do) and a bigger flashlight, I would probably give it a better rating, however...... My 1-star rating is due to the fact that this brand advertises their product to be compatible with my new flashlight when it clearly doesn't. There is a whole lot against this setup than in favor of it. I'll try to attach pictures of it to show it here. What makes me even more mad is that I used an international courier to have it shipped where I live and had to pay the extra amount for nothing as I won't be able to return it and get a refund.Beware when buying from Nextorch, it seems they are willing to mislead customers into buying their products when clearly they haven't done a lot of testing.

Very nice quality and holds the flashlight tight

This holster fits my Surefire Peacemaker almost perfectly. Quality is nice and I like that there's a little flex. I think it would hold up well. This fits my light almost perfectly. The adjustment screw makes the retention either too tight or too loose. When tight, it is difficult to take out the light. When loose, it will still retain the light but can shift up and down. I set it so its' on the tighter end. It is a little hard to take out and hopefully as it wears in, it will loosen up.The retention lever is easy to operate even with gloved hands. I like the feature where you can turn the holster for hands free operation. There's a hole at the bottom so the light can shine through. It fits fine on a duty or battle belt. I think it was made for it. On a normal belt, there's an extra tab you can pull down to make the fit better. This works well but because it is made to fit a thicker duty belt, it is a little loose on a normal belt. This is much better than a light pouch, which is what I was using previously. I can use the light hands free and its' easier to deploy my light.

So good, IF it fits your flashlight

What I like best about this holster-design is that you can draw your flashlight silently - IF - your flashlight fits the holster perfectly. This holster has a limited adjustment window so it's better to think of getting the right flashlight for this type of holster, than to think of getting the right holster for your flashlight. Measure the dimensions of your flashlight carefully or see if it's on the list below. This is a 5 star item, but only if it fits your flashlight, and I would give it 5 stars if it could be adjusted to fit a wider set of flashlight dimensions, but as it can't, I'm only giving it 3 stars. I know. Harsh. But this review is for the sake of buyers, not sellers. The closure width of the jaws is adjusted by a screw through a coiled spring. This is the only size adjustment to match the width of your flashlight. Whereas how far the jaws swing from opened to closed ( and from closed to open) is not adjustable, but rather preset by the size of the cam, i.e., the cam-lock that you can "flip-open" or "flip-closed." The dimensions of this cam-lock, above all else, determines how easily, and how quietly, your flashlight can be drawn from the holster, and inserted back into the holster. I wish the cam-lock dimensions were such that it allowed the jaws to swing wider so that it was easier and quieter for flashlights with fatter barrels. If the flashlight fits well, then flipping the cam-lock open will allow you to draw the flashlight silently. Otherwise you have to "work" the flashlight through the jaws that clamp the flashlight into the holster. I suppose people imbued with DETERMINATION will force the holster to work for them. But it won't be as quiet and easy unless that same determination manifests as skill in modifying the jaws of the holster for flashlights that just don't fit perfectly to begin with. Which I neither recommend or discourage.I think this design is a vast improvement over Velcro closures, but I have encountered other quiet closures based on spring-steel wire, and based on magnets. I think this design is the best.I also like that you can index flashlight controls on the barrel, by rotating the flashlight, to face the controls outward, so that you can manipulate them while the flashlight is still in the holster, or, face them inwardly so that the controls can't be bumped inadvertently.I also like that the floor of the holster is an open port, so if you need indirect light, you can turn your flashlight on, while it remains inside the holster, which will direct the beam of light to wherever you have set the light to shine while it is in the holster. It rotates 360 degrees on its belt clip, so you could angle it to beam light towards the ground where you step forward.Sizing. This is the larger of the 2 holster sizes available. According to the manufacturer, this holster (the V55L X-Carry) will fit flashlights with Head Diameters from 27 to 39mm, and Barrel Diameters from 24 to 28 mm, which includes the following flashlight models:NEXTORCH: TA30C, P80, P81, P83, P84, E52CFENIX: PD36R Pro, PD40R V2.0, TK11 TAC, TK16 V2.0, TK20R V2.0, TK30, TK22 TACOLIGHT: Seeker Series, Warrior X3, Warrior 3, Warrior 3S, M2R ProThe other holster size is the NEXTORCH V55 X-Carry. Works and looks good!

This fits a few of my flashlights and secures then adequately. Adjustable enough for a snug fit for my duty lights. Nextorch makes some quality stuff for a fair price.

    Light awesome, holder garbage

Comes off all the time. Bump it, falls off. Seatbelt catch, falls off. Try to pull light, whole holder comes off. Sneeze, comes off. Maybe a defective holder came with my light. Absolutely love their light, holder not so much
