It produces not only brilliant, extraordinary white light, but also a lot of heat.In case of damaging your flashlight and the things around the flashlight, please pay attention to the following: 1. Don't put the flashlight straightly onto a plane, that may damage the lamp and even cause a fire as the heat can't release from the flashlight. 2. Don't shine the eyes straightly as the powerful light could cause a permanent injury. 3. Don't often disassemble the lamp, in case of damaging the reflector or the bulb. 4. Tactical flashlight is intended for short term usage and should not be used for more than 15 minutes at one time. How to maintain NEXTORCH flashlight
To keep your flashlight always in a perfect condition, follow the instructions below. FAQ
Why does my high bright LED sometimes flicker?
This is an indication from the flashlight that the batteries need replacing.
Why can't I restart my HID directly after switching it OFF?
A delay is needed to extend the lifetime of the bulb. Re-start after 5 seconds.
Why does my HID flash when opened?
This is a discharge of ions in the bulb and is nothing to worry about.
Why are there different tail-caps? Screw tail-cap and a click tail-cap?
NEXTORCH produces different tail-caps for different application. The screw tail-cap was developed for use police and military. The ON/OFF rate can be controlled by the users thumb, thus being very effective for temporarily blinding a person. The click tail-cap is for more common day to day applications where the convenient ON/OFF of the flashlight can be controlled by a simple click. Can the bulb break easily, and can it be replaced?
All NEXTORCH flashlights use top quality bulb assemblies, which have gone through an inspection and quality process. All filament bulbs have a limited life span and need to be replaces in time.Every bulbs is factory calibrated in the reflector unit to offer the best per-set beam performance. For this reason the bulb and the reflector need to be replaced as one unit. How bright is the flashlight beam and how far can I see with it?
Here are realistic distances based on clear visibility in a totally dark environment.
(a) Regular LED(SU5) 3-6 meters (b) High-bright LED (magic Max /Z3/P1/P3/T1/T3/Magic Max II) 30-60 meters (c) 3.6v xenon bulb (RT3/GT6A-R) 50-70 meters (d) 6v Xenon bulb (T6/T6A/GT6A-S.Z6) 60-80 meters (e) 7.2v Xenon bulb (RT7) 75-120 meters (f) 9v Xenon bulb (T9/Z9) 75-120 meters (g) 10w HID 300-500 meters Luminous intensity
A measure of a light source power in a particular direction. The standard unit of luminous intensity is the Candela (cd).
Luminous flux
Energy per unit time of emitted visible wavelengths of light from the source. The standard unit of luminous flux is the
lumen.
Illuminance
The density of luminous flux on a surface. The standard units of illuminance are the footcandle and the lux.
Direct Distance
Distance that the observer, standing in the dark away from the source, can see the light emitted by the source.
Maximum Effective Distance
The maximum distance that the observer, standing in the dark at the source, can see an object illuminated by the source.
Runtime
Flashlight manufacturers claim their flashlights last for tens, even hundreds, of hours. While this may be technically true,
it may also be true that during a majority of this time, the flashlight is producing a dim light which may not meet the
high-brightness demands of the user. NexTORCH defines the Runtime as the total time that the flashlight maintains more
than 50% of its highest steady luminance.
Method of measuring distance
We use the following formula to calculate distance:
E= I/d2
E is illuminance in lux
I is luminous intensity in cd
d is distance in meters
As a standard practice, the illuminance E of the light is measured at 2 meters using a light meter. By manipulating the above formula, we can determine the luminous intensity I (I=E×22). We can also calculate the Direct Distance d where the light produces an illuminance of 0.25lux (d= (I/0.25)1/2). Dividing the Direct Distance by 2, we get the Maximum Effective Distance. Distance
Distance varies with the location of the observer.
For reference, we have defined two distances based on the observing location: casting location and source location. |
